“Leveling-Up” Designs
I have continued to express an interest new tools and certifications beyond what I have accomplished in my studies at Michigan State University. Below are some of the programs, tech tools, and design skills I have explored.
Articulate 360
Despite using this tool regularly in my work, I’m continuing to up-skill using the Udemy platform to learn more about creating accessible and dynamic eLearnings.
Anthropic
Artificial Intelligence can be an impactful tool, but my stance is that in the instructional design world, diligent use is needed to avoid the pitfalls of AI slop. I’ve taken several of Anthropic’s educational courses on AI including their model Claude, to enhance learning.
Vyond
Vyond is a video creation site that allows users to create from scratch, use realistic approach with a rich video library including AI narrators and avatars, or create animations. Here you can see my first creation in Vyond.
How to Design for Accessibility: for UX Designers (WCAG 2.2)
This course allowed me to explore eLearning authoring from the perspective of User Experience (UX) design. This 9-hour course provided a great overview of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 guidelines
LinkedIn Learning Certificate: Notion
Creating within Notion has allowed me to track projects and organize work flow in new ways. This skills has allowed me to better optimize my workflow, track and record pertinent information in one place, and explore the creative elements of the platform’s sandbox style.
LinkedIn Learning Certificate: ELearning Essentials: Instructional Design
This course was a great first step into transferring my depth of knowledge and experience in K-12 classroom teaching and my desire to create eLearning materials for adults.
